What will I learn?

Our courses cover boat handling, navigation, safety procedures, sail trimming, anchoring, and more. Depending on your course level, you'll gain skills as a crew member or skipper.

Do you offer professional qualifications?

No, we are primarily a leisure school; however, it is possible to get qualifications endorsed by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association). Our courses equip you with skills and certifications for a career in sailing or to enhance your personal proficiency.

Do you provide theory courses?

Absolutely! We offer theory courses via our online partners Ardent, including the RYA Day Skipper Theory course, which covers navigation, meteorology, and seamanship.

Do you teach motor courses, especially the PB2?

While our focus is on sailing courses, we intend to offer the RYA Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) course upon request.

Do you provide courses for the ICC?

If you have a Day Skipper practical qualification, you can apply directly to the RYA for an ICC, provided you are a UK resident.

Can I enroll in the Start Yachting course?

Currently, we do not offer the Start Yachting course. We recommend the Competent Crew course for beginners, which provides an excellent introduction to sailing.

Do you offer the Yachtmaster course?

Yes, we offer preparation courses for the RYA Yachtmaster certification, including practical and theoretical components to help you succeed in the examinations.

What health restrictions do you have?

Sailing can be physically demanding. Participants should be able to climb steps, move around the vessel, and handle ropes. If you have medical concerns, consult us before booking.

Can I do Competent Crew and Day Skipper back to back?

This is not recommended. Ensure you meet the prerequisites for the Day Skipper course before starting it.

Can I do Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper back to back?

It’s possible, but gaining additional experience between the two courses is recommended.

Do I need to do the theory course to do the Day Skipper?

Yes, completing the Day Skipper Theory course is mandatory before the practical course, as it covers crucial topics like navigation and weather.

How much experience do I need to do the Day Skipper course?

You should have 5 days at sea, 100 nautical miles, and 4 night hours. Completing the Day Skipper Theory course beforehand is also required.

How much experience do I need to do the Competent Crew course?

No prior sailing experience is needed. The Competent Crew course is designed for beginners and covers the basics of sailing.

Can my non-sailing partner join the course?

They may join if they enroll in the course or for private charters. Contact us for specific arrangements.

What languages are the courses taught in?

Courses are primarily in English. Other languages may be accommodated during mile-building trips upon request.

Do you have any job openings?

Occasionally, we hire qualified instructors and crew members. Please send your CV and cover letter to our email for consideration.

Do I need to take out sailing insurance?

We recommend obtaining personal travel insurance that includes sailing activities to ensure full coverage.

Is the cost of fuel included in the course fee?

Yes, fuel costs are included in the course fee.

Do you offer private courses?

Yes, we provide private courses tailored to your schedule and needs.

Can I do a split course?

Yes, you can split your course over different dates to suit your schedule.

Do you run female-only courses?

Yes, we offer female-only courses upon request. These require booking the entire boat.

Can I have a private cabin on my mile builder?

Private cabins are available for an additional cost, depending on availability.

I have my own sailboat; can I use it for my training?

Yes, provided it meets safety standards and is appropriately equipped. Contact us to discuss.

Where do you sail to?

Our trips explore Mallorca and nearby islands like Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.

What type of boat do you use?

We use modern, well-equipped yachts that meet rigorous RYA standards.

Where are you based in Mallorca?

We are located in the main harbor of Palma de Mallorca, offering convenient access to the Balearic Islands.

What bedding do you supply?

Basic bedding, including pillows and blankets, is provided. Bring a sleeping bag for extra comfort if needed.

What meals will I get?

Meals are not provided during courses. On mile-building trips, the crew shares meal prep after provisioning the vessel.

What do I need to bring?

Pack comfortable clothing, non-marking shoes, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, toiletries, medications, and your sailing logbook. A detailed packing list will be sent upon booking.

Do I need a jacket?

Yes, bring a waterproof jacket and suitable sailing attire. Weather can change unexpectedly.

Can my kids come on the course?

Courses are for individuals aged 17 and above, but we may accommodate younger students in private courses or family groups.

Can I have a private cabin?

Cabins are assigned based on availability. Request a private cabin when booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Is the course always on the vessel, or can I stay ashore?

Courses are designed to be onboard, but you can arrange onshore accommodation if preferred.

Can I smoke on board during courses and mile builders?

Smoking is allowed on deck only, ensuring it doesn’t interfere with others. Dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.
